What to Expect on Your First Visit

If this is your first massage experience, we want to ensure you feel confident and prepared for your visit. Here is a step-by-step
guide to help you know exactly what to expect, so you can relax and enjoy the process from start to finish.

1. Arrival Time

We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early for your first appointment. This gives you a little extra time to fill out your health history form. If you would like to save time, feel free to download and complete it before you arrive!

Your therapist will also conduct a brief assessment to better understand your needs and tailor the treatment to your specific concerns. This ensures that we provide the best possible care and help you achieve your wellness goals.

2. Getting Ready

Your RMT will review your health history, massage preferences, and discuss your assessment and treatment plan in a private treatment room.

When it is time to begin, your RMT will step out for privacy while you undress. You can choose how much clothing to remove—either fully or partially. You will be draped with clean linens throughout the session. If you prefer to stay clothed, wear loose, comfortable clothing like a t-shirt and sweatpants.

Once you are ready, simply lie down under the linens, and open the door to signal to your RMT when you are prepared to start.

3. Treatment Begins

During your session, you will be comfortably draped with fresh linens on a padded table. Only the area being worked on will be uncovered to ensure your privacy.

Your RMT will check in with you throughout the treatment to make sure the pressure is just right, and you’re welcome to speak up at any time about comfort, pressure, or draping.

Feel free to relax in silence, or enjoy light conversation, with calming music playing in the background unless you would prefer otherwise. Once your session is finished, your RMT will step out so you can get dressed at your own pace.

When you are ready, simply open the door to signal, and they will return to offer follow-up advice, and discuss your next steps in care. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
